Bitcoin moves up by 5.37% to more $6,600   

According to the data from Coinmarketcap, Bitcoin, the worlds largest cryptocurrency has climbed by 5.37% to $6,696 to reach its 2 week high.

On Tuesday, August 21st, Bitcoin surged passed the $6,500 mark and while writing this article its is trading at  $6,696. According to Coinmarketcap price data, Bitcoin has crossed this mark for the first time since July 24th.  

At press time, the 24-hour volume of the largest cryptocurrency is $4,212,801,403. This momentum in price could be due to the fresh Bitcoin ETF proposal which is to be decided by the SEC later this week.

All the investors are looking forward to this decision, as the approval of this proposal would be a defining moment for the entire cryptocurrency industry in 2018 and denial could send the price lower.

At press time, the total market cap of all cryptocurrencies was more than $217 billion according to data provided from coinmarketcap.
